Inshore Reef and Bank Fishing
There are many species to target on the varied grounds inshore around Weymouth. During the early part of the year (January, February, March) we target Whiting, Cod, Rays, Smoothhounds, Bull Huss and Wrasse. By April and May, Plaice and Bream are making an appearance along with Pollack, Turbot, Brill, Mackerel and Bass. Conger and Tope fishing during the summer months can be a great day out on the reefs around Portland. All these species are generally around until December depending on local conditions. Each season is slightly different to the last creating an exciting inshore experience – there are always new tricks to learn and old techniques to practise!
